UNIVERSITY: THE MIRACLE CENTRE THAT TRANSFORMS A SOCIETY
Exactly 76 years ago, on January 18, 1948, lectures began at the University of Ibandan, which was founded as University College Ibadan, one of many colleges within the University of London. It became an independent university in 1962, (few years after the establishment of the University of Nigeria Nsukka which was founded in 1955 and formally opened in 1960). The university of Ibadan, however, is the oldest degree-awarding institution in Nigeria but not as an independent institution.
In every country, the university is the place where the miracles of development, peace, and justice are initiated. Universities can therefore be referred as the real miracle centers with verifiable proofs and established systems.
The university is a place where unknown illnesses are studied, where young men and women put their heads together to find the best ways of protecting their society, improving their economy, fighting joblessness, and cubing sickness, and mortality rates.
Universities' research focuses mainly on their environment. For instance, about how to promote the history, culture, and identity of their people and about how to advance the achievements of their forebears. In universities, students also conduct research to promote international relationships, among other things.
Today Nigeria has over 160 universities, with little or no testimonies of miraculous breakthroughs.
