The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) had its National Executive Council, NEC meeting yesterday November 6th, 2024. in Enugu. In the light of the association for the continuity of national building and protection of Human rights, formed the bane of the message as wholesome discourse to the stand of the body. The president of the association Barr Mazi Afam Osigwe (SAN) used the opportunity to express the tremendous face-lift development being galvanized in the state by His Excellency Dr Peter Mbah, the executive governor of Enugu State. He elaborated the nature of democratic strands and its uniqueness being provided by the government of Enugu State. In broadview, the national chairman who gave his heartfelt gratitude through a boom of dividends as evidence in the course of leadership in Enugu State as a welcome effect to the growth of national building.


In a similar development, the Enugu State chapter Chairman of the association, Barr. Odo Venatus Chukwuma further expressed the level of exposure and cordial growth enshrined in Enugu State by His Excellency Dr Peter Mbah led government. The ovation was high in will of hope, disruptive innovation as a center model for what we witness in Enugu State. The capital assessment of the leadership standard in Enugu is next to none in the zone. He also urged the association to grease their elbow in the affairs of justice and Human rights protection in Nigeria.


The highlight of the meeting was the grand style reception hosted by Hon. Barr. Chidi Aroh (NNANYELUGO), Barr. Aroh who organized a reception of over five hundred (500) members of Nigeria Bar Association, NBA at his residence in Enugu. In the crux of the reception, he (Nnanyelugo) deepened the four square development of Dr Peter Mbah as an example of democratic crusade across boards of existence and humanity. He emphasized much on the daily flag off of projects as happening in Enugu, despite numerous completed projects in roads, education etc within a short period of time. Currently, Enugu has become a construction site and project initiative center for the entire nation. All these were possible and even more so by the proactive Governor Peter Mbah. 


Initially, the viable move for the meeting was to have a dinner with his learned colleagues after their NEC meeting yesterday in Enugu where he (Nnanyelugo) stated, “I find it very difficult to tell my story with president of Nigeria Bar Association,Barr Mazi Afam Osigwe because we have a very long relationship, Mazi Osigwe was my classmate, we went to law school together, we lived together for five years after call to bar and it was marriage that made us live separately, I cannot forget his honor to my family in July this year when he Chaired my late mother's ten years remembrance in Nsukka and of course the president is also my mother's son and he acknowledges that” . He further thanked the Governor Mbah's predecessor Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Gburugburu) who made it possible for Enugu to have Mbah as a choice for our governor today, Governor Mbah as a lawyer has fundamentally given a regard to rule of law and respect to human rights. 


Nnanyelugo appreciated his wife for giving his colleagues the king's dinner and encouraged the lawyers to remain strong as the most disciplined people in the world.


The dinner was colored by ogene music, live bands and other entertainers.

HEALTH  03 JUNE, 2024 ENUGU GOVT APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 400 STAFF IN PHCS  The Enugu State Government says it will be employing no fewer than 400 clinical and non clinical staff within its functional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to strengthen manpower needs. Dr Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku, the Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Enugu. Ani-Osheku noted that those to be employed are based on existing man-power gaps identified in PHCs in each of the 17 council areas. She said that the agency and the health ministry had already collated data on the PHC centre equipment and manpower gaps in the 17 council areas in the state. According to her, from onset accurate man-power and other available equipment needs and gaps was identified and duly recorded; and now the state government has concluded plans to fill in the man-power gap in each PHC centre.
