Breaking: Hon Ejike Eze set to empower his constituents...

HON. EJIKE EZE'S EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE


Hon. Ejike Eze, the Member Representing Igbo Eze North Constituency 1 and Chief Whip of the Enugu State House of Assembly, is set to host a groundbreaking Empowerment Program aimed at supporting hardworking individuals and bright students from less privileged backgrounds. This program will take place on Sunday, 22nd December 2024, at Hon. Ejike Eze's residence in Okata.


The initiative is designed to empower individuals in two categories:


Okada riders and aspiring riders in need of motorcycles, and


University-bound students from poor backgrounds with strong academic credentials, through a scholarship scheme.


MOTORCYCLE EMPOWERMENT


To support Okada riders and individuals aspiring to join the business, motorcycles will be distributed to deserving candidates. To qualify, nominees must meet any of the following criteria:


1. Be an Okada rider who does not own a motorcycle or whose motorcycle is damaged beyond repair.


2. Be a rider operating a motorcycle under a hire-purchase arrangement.


3. Be an individual eager to start an Okada business but unable to afford a motorcycle.


Each political ward is expected to nominate candidates as follows:


Wards with a single community will nominate two candidates.


Wards with multiple communities will nominate one candidate per community. For instance, Ozzi Ward 4, which has four villages, will nominate four individuals—one from each village.


SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATION


This initiative also aims to support promising students from disadvantaged families by providing scholarships to help them pursue higher education. To qualify, students must:


1. Be from a poor background.


2. Have gained admission into a university and achieved a commendable JAMB score.


3. Be nominated by their ward, with one candidate per ward recommended.


All nominations for the scholarship program must be submitted to the designated ward coordinators no later than Sunday evening, 15th December 2024. Once the nominations are compiled, the most outstanding students will be selected for the scholarship awards.

HEALTH  03 JUNE, 2024 ENUGU GOVT APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 400 STAFF IN PHCS  The Enugu State Government says it will be employing no fewer than 400 clinical and non clinical staff within its functional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to strengthen manpower needs. Dr Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku, the Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Enugu. Ani-Osheku noted that those to be employed are based on existing man-power gaps identified in PHCs in each of the 17 council areas. She said that the agency and the health ministry had already collated data on the PHC centre equipment and manpower gaps in the 17 council areas in the state.
