Nsukka international market under construction at Agbani/Obimo Nsukka now has added infrastructural advancement with drainage and road demarcations around the ongoing project. It is one of the focal projects initiated by the Nsukka local government council chairman - Hon. Engr Jude Chinedu Asogwa. At the intense expectations for continued progress of the project, the council boss started the excavation of drainage systems across the ongoing market building.


Yesterday marked another phase of infrastructural development in Nsukka local government as road demarcations across the market commenced in broad verse. This will enhance the flow of the business environment in a cordial perspective to the growth of the market. Traders will have a conducive business atmosphere to transact business. 


This international market is unique in positioning and value oriented programming. It has border communities of the University Estate Nsukka, Nguru Nsukka, Obimo, Agbani and Odoru Nsukka. Its location is enticing to people.


Residents of the border communities were overwhelmed with joy as most of them have suffered the drainage deficiency of the area. Some of them who came to the scene of the construction thanked the council chairman for such a revival initiative because the project will solve the flood damages along that Obimo/Nsukka/Uzo-Uwani road. It was a joyous moment for the residents as the work continued this morning to the expected result. 


Erosion will be a thing of the past in that location and economic development will showcase to serve its purpose. This project is one the contributions to the disruptive innovation of His Excellency Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah's system of growing Enugu state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 4.4 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars. It is recalled that at the foundation laying of this international market, the state government assured that those who lost their shops to the construction of the modern transport terminal at Ogige market will be first to consider the allocation of shops of the market. Indeed, there will be victory at last.


The council chairman is putting every niche of service delivery to ensure speedy completion of the project within a shortest period of time. All thanks to the project master Hon. Engr Jude Chinedu Asogwa the council chairman of Nsukka local government.

HEALTH  03 JUNE, 2024 ENUGU GOVT APPROVES RECRUITMENT OF 400 STAFF IN PHCS  The Enugu State Government says it will be employing no fewer than 400 clinical and non clinical staff within its functional Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) to strengthen manpower needs. Dr Ifeyinwa Ani-Osheku, the Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency (ENS-PHCDA), disclosed this to newsmen yesterday in Enugu. Ani-Osheku noted that those to be employed are based on existing man-power gaps identified in PHCs in each of the 17 council areas. She said that the agency and the health ministry had already collated data on the PHC centre equipment and manpower gaps in the 17 council areas in the state.
